Birthday Parties
July 30, 2019
Birthday parties can be so much fun but they are also A LOT of work. Reserving our neighborhood park
was easy and so was sending the invitations. It was what to do on the day of the party that had me
stumped. We had already done the usual; Chucky Cheese, the trampoline place, a swimming party at
our house (never again!), Gator Fred’s, Lazer Tag , bowling, etc. My son was turning 8 and I found
myself fresh out of ideas. He loves all kinds of sports, and being outside seemed like a great idea so, I
looked on line for something “sporty” to do. I came across Sports Fun Birthday Parties. I called to inquire
and get pricing and decided to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did! On the day of the party, I decorated with
balloons and such, had a cooler of drinks and snacks ready for the party to begin at 1:00. Joshua’s
friends began to arrive and they ran around and played like kids do. Shortly thereafter, the Sports Fun
coach walked up with a huge bag of equipment and a smile on his face as he greeted the kids with high
5’s and looked for the birthday boy. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease as I watched the
interaction of the boys and girls with Coach Chris. My husband and I were amazed at the organized FUN
the kids were having together! They played a game like “capture the flag”, then were each given a
soccer ball. The coach challenged them with soccer drills, “shooting” at goals, and then organized a
modified game of soccer using 3 balls instead of just one! Brilliant idea! They also did relay races and tug
of war. At the end of the party, Joshua was presented his own soccer ball which all of the kids signed
with a sharpie as a gift from Sports Fun and Coach Chris. The kids were exhausted from a full hour of
non-stop fun. It was an easy, no fuss birthday that all of the boys and girls loved. Maybe next year we’ll
do hockey or football for Joshua’s 9 th birthday! I found the company online at www.sports-fun.com
