Operating Engineers Local 487 Award Picnic

The annual Operating Engineers Local 487 Award picnic is a cherished tradition that brings together members and their families for a day of fun and celebration. Held at their training facility in Plant City, this year’s event was truly a family affair. Attendees were treated to a mouthwatering BBQ lunch featuring pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and hot dogs, satisfying every appetite.

But the festivities didn’t stop there. From pony rides to a face painter, an ice cream stand to a photo kiosk decked out with festive St. Patrick’s Day props, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The bounce house was good safe fun for the kids, while the towering rock climbing wall provided thrills for the adventurous among the group.

The highlight of the day was the awards ceremony, where outstanding members were recognized for their dedication and many years with the union. The excitement continued with raffle prizes galore and an exciting 50/50 cash drawing. Tammy Morgan and Mark Schaunaman, the organizers behind the scenes, ensured that every detail was executed flawlessly, marking the 5th year of a successful partnership between Sports Fun Corporate Events & Company Picnics and the Operating Engineers Local 487. As the day came to an end on another memorable picnic, laughter and camaraderie lingered, solidifying the bond within the union community until next year’s gathering.
